Who we are

Marta Ryall is the data controller for personal information collected through allabor.org.

Information we collect

When you apply to the Allabor Website Initiative, we collect the information you provide in your Project Brief. This may include your name, email address, location, organisation or business name, links to an existing website or other online presence, and information about your project, its objectives, audience, market and the people involved in it.

We only ask for information that we consider relevant to understanding and assessing your application.

Please do not include sensitive personal information in your Project Brief unless it is genuinely necessary.

How we use your information

We use the information submitted through the Project Brief to:

receive and administer your application;
understand and assess your project;
select projects for the Allabor Website Initiative;
contact you about your application where necessary;
generate your Project Brief as a PDF and email a copy to you;
maintain a copy of the submitted application for the relevant annual selection process; and
if your project is selected, contact you and take the project forward with you.

We do not use information submitted through the Project Brief to add you to a marketing mailing list.

Our lawful basis

We process application information on the basis of our legitimate interests in operating the Allabor Website Initiative, assessing applications, communicating with applicants and selecting projects to support.

Where a project is selected and discussions progress towards an agreement with Allabor, some subsequent processing may also be necessary in order to take steps at your request before entering into a contract or to perform that contract.

Saving an unfinished Project Brief

While you complete the application, allabor.org saves your unfinished Project Brief in storage in your browser so that your answers are not lost if you refresh the page or return later using the same browser and device.

An unfinished Project Brief saved in this way remains on your device and is not sent to Allabor until you choose to submit it.

You can remove the saved draft at any time using Clear saved Project Brief. After a successful submission, the locally saved draft is cleared automatically.

What happens when you submit

When you submit your Project Brief, the information is sent securely to the server hosting allabor.org.

The server processes the application, creates a PDF Project Brief and sends a copy to the email address you provided and a copy to Allabor at info@allabor.org.

The website is not intended to maintain a permanent database of applications. Temporary files and processing data created to handle the submission are removed when they are no longer required.

Who processes your information

Allabor uses 20i to provide website hosting and email services. 20i therefore processes information on Allabor's behalf where necessary to host the website, process the submission and provide email services.

We may also disclose information where required by law or where reasonably necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal rights.

We do not sell applicants' personal information.

How long we keep application information

Complete applications are retained for the annual selection process in which they were submitted.

After that selection process has concluded, personal information relating to applicants who are not selected is deleted when it is no longer required for that year's Initiative.

Allabor may retain information derived from applications for internal analysis and development of the Initiative where that information has been anonymised so that it no longer identifies the applicant.

If your project is selected, information relevant to the resulting relationship with Allabor may be retained for as long as necessary to administer that relationship and meet applicable legal, accounting or business-record requirements.

We will not publish an identifiable unsuccessful application as a case study or example without appropriate permission from the applicant.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, UK data protection law gives you rights concerning your personal information, including rights to request access to it, correction of inaccurate information, erasure, restriction of processing, and to object to processing based on legitimate interests.

These rights are not absolute and their application depends on the circumstances and lawful basis involved.

Your right to object

You have the right to object to our processing of your personal information where we rely on legitimate interests. If you wish to object, contact info@allabor.org and tell us what processing you object to and why.

Complaints

If you have concerns about how we use your personal information, please contact us first at info@allabor.org so that we have an opportunity to address them.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy if the Initiative, the website or the way we process information changes. The current version will always be published on allabor.org.
